Silham Consulting & Training Services CEO and Principal Consultant recently attended a Data Governance Policy Stakeholder Engagement Workshop organised by the Data Protection Commission, with support from the African Union Development Agency (AUDA) – NEPAD. The workshop was held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Lusaka on 12th September, 2024.
The workshop aimed to solicit expert opinions in the Data Governance space to help shape the structure, content, and direction of Zambia’s Data Governance Policy. Stakeholders were drawn from various public and private sector backgrounds.

The event concluded with plenary discussions and feedback from group discussions on important topics to be addressed by the policy, with a strong emphasis on Data Protection.
Reflecting on the event, the CEO shared the following:
“Once again, the knowledge and expertise in Data Protection and its relevancy to the Data Governance Policy development process was recognised by the government when I was invited to participate. It was a privilege to be in the same room with other stakeholders from various sectors who are experts in their fields. The lessons learned from this experience will undoubtedly influence future actions.”
